SELF CATERED PENTHOUSE APARTMENT

This newly renovated top floor penthouse apartment sleeps 8 to 10 people, in the very heart of Zermatt. It is unique: the best way to describe it is to imagine the flat roof of a five storey building, in the middle of which a chalet has been built. The accommodation consists of 4 double bedrooms (one with a brand new en-suite shower and basin)(3 with double beds and one with two single beds and a wash-basin), Bath/WC, WC, spacious living room with wood stove, sloping beamed ceiling, seperate open plan kitchen with dining area. There is a mezzanine floor in the living room (with a low ceiling) accessed via a spiral staircase which can sleep an additional two children or (small) people.

The apartment has the biggest terrace in Zermatt, it is three sided (east/south/west) with a private open-air hot-tub/jacuzzi, and a private sauna.

There is a spectacular view on the village and the Matterhorn from the living-room, the terrace and from two of the bedrooms. Other facilities include dishwasher, TV/DVD, washing machine, tumble drier and hair drier.

This is a great penthouse apartment. You couldn't get a more central yet quiet location (just off the main pedestrian street - the Bahnhofstrasse), nor a bigger terrace, nor better views. It's very spacious and comfortable. The downside is that the building is not very elegant (but then you don't see it when you're on top of it), and the bathroom's fittings are dated. It could also use an additional bathroom. If you consider space and location to be the most important luxuries, this penthouse is unmatched in Zermatt. It is also one of the very few places which can accommodate up to 10 people.
